Type Locality: Huzurapur (Jessore, Bangladesh)
Rare, known to be distributed in north-eastern India and Bihar in India (Asian Turtle Trade Working Group, 2000).

Conservation Status:

 

This species is listed as Vulnerable in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (https://www.iucnredlist.org/).


Trading for the food markets is leading the species to a decline in the population (Asian Turtle Trade Working Group, 2000), though not much data on population and ecology of the species are available for the species.
