Type Locality: Annamalai hills (Tamil Nadu)
Common, known to be distributed from Nilgiri hills (Tamil Nadu) to Cardamom hills (Kerala) (Srinivasulu et al., 2013).

Conservation Status:

 

This species is listed as Near Threatened in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (https://www.iucnredlist.org/).


The species occupies fringes of semi-evergreen hill forest and shola patches (Srinivasulu et al., 2013). Habitat conversion into agricultural land and killing by people are major threats to the species (Srinivasulu et al., 2013).
