It is a pelagic snake species which is generally seen away from the shore at a depth of 25 m and more.
Notes (optional)
It was not an occasional by-catch and was caught in a dol net. H. fasciatus (Banded/Striped sea snake) can be dishtinguished from other sea snakes because of its unique slender anterior body and large, laterally compressed posterior body.
