Type Locality: River Chenab (North-western India)
Rare, known to be distributed in river systems on northern India and Assam (Reptile Database).

Conservation Status:

The species can be occupied in fresh water river systems and swamps (Reptile Database). Nothing is known about the population status and ecology of the species. Threat assessment is needed to be done.
