Type Locality: Chalakewadi (Satara, Maharashtra)
Common in monsoon, known localities are Chalakewadi and Thoseghar (Satara, Maharashtra) (Srinivasulu and Srinivasulu, 2013).

Conservation Status:

 

This species is listed as Vulnerable in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (https://www.iucnredlist.org/).


The gecko can be found in open, sparsely vegetated plateaus in moist montane forest and under rocks (Srinivasulu and Srinivasulu, 2013). Tourism and windmills in the region are considered as potential threats to the species (Srinivasulu and Srinivasulu, 2013). Species distribution and population related monitoring are urgently needed.
