Type Locality: Ponmudi (Trivendrum, Kerala)
Rare, known to be distributed in southern Western Ghats in Kerala (Srinivasulu and Srinivaulu, 2013).
Conservation Status:
This species is listed as Endangered in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (https://www.iucnredlist.org/).The species has been recorded from lowland plantations, moist deciduous forests and evergreen forests as well, precisely on large rocks, bare patches in grassland and open spaces in tea plantations (Srinivasulu and Srinivaulu, 2013). The habitat of the species is continuously degrading due to logging, illegal mining, expansion of plantations over forest lands, forest fires and tourism related developmental studies (Srinivasulu and Srinivaulu, 2013).
