Type Locality: Wynaad (Kerala)
Rare, known to be endemic to southern Western Ghats in Kerala only (Srinivasulu and Srinivasulu, 2013).

Conservation Status:


This species is listed as Endangered in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (https://www.iucnredlist.org/).


The species is known to be occurred in tropical evergreen forests in Western Ghats (Srinivasulu and Srinivasulu, 2013). There is no data available on the population status of the species. A sharp decline in the habitat quality of the species is assessed due to expansion of agriculture, human habitation and tourism related activities (Srinivasulu and Srinivasulu, 2013).
