This species is listed as Near Threatened in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species (https://www.iucnredlist.org/).
The species inhabits in evergreen forests, in leaf litter and deep soil (Thakur et al., 2013). Forest fires and NTFP & fuelwood collections are known threats to the species and its habitats (Thakur et al., 2013).
Type Locality: Deccan
Rare, known to be endemic to northern Western Ghats, especially Pune, Maharashtra (Thakur et al., 2013).
